Smoke is a phenomenal cutter. She wiped out the competition during the 2005 South Dakota High School Rodeo season, and Qualified for the National High School Rodeo Finals in 2004 and 2005. She spent 2007 in the broodmare band with filly Smoke to Ashes. She returned to her cutting career in 2008 with Sterling Brown in high school rodeo and qualified for the South Dakota State High School Rodeo Finals.

She was Sterling's Eastern Montana Horse Show Circuit horse in 2006, doing well in equitation, western riding and speed events. Her versatility mirrors maternal grandsire, Doc's Hickory, whose offspring have won nearly $18 million.

Her 2009 Filly is sired by Sir Fred Von Freckle.
